While the title of Rockstar Games has established a sales record from the day it was released by gaining $ 800 million related to Take Two Interactive, a new milestone was reached after three days of availability and Grand Theft Auto V has now reported more than $ 1 billion to the publisher.
This is the first cultural products and entertainment, including video games and movies, to achieve such a record so quickly.
In comparison, it took Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 15 days to reach $1bn and James Cameron's Avatar 17 days to reach this figure.
Strauss Zelnick made some comments about the new milestone:
